L'Hippocampe - Reservar uma mesa

We found the restaurant as we drove from one location to another. It was frequented exclusively by locals and that is usually a good sign. Sadly this is the exception that disproves the rule. The part of the restaurant we were seated in was unlit, which probably helped as the decor was shabby and desperately in need of a coat of paint; things went from bad to worse when I visited the toilet. Service was so slow, we were losing the will to live by the time our order was taken; we then had to wait for meals, the longest wait ever. The food was ok, but that's all. What was interesting was the fact that the locals were friendly than the staff. Oh dear not a good experience. Ho hum.

We walked into Belz for dinner on a Friday night only to find the town very quiet, including this restaurant. Even though it was quiet, the food was great and the service was very helpful and friendly. And the meals were well priced too.The crepes were great especially the desert ones with salted caramel and apples which I believe are a speciality of the region.

How can people not love crepes?! This place has spongy light chewy crepe with nice ice cream filling.

4 stars for the matcha soft serve freshly made but be prepared for a wait if they need to make more.
