L'essentiel - Reservar uma mesa

Positive first: The food is actually good, very tasty, fresh and well presented. Unfortunately we had two experiences where the service was less than adequate. On the first occasion we had ordered steaks à point and they came not only well done, but actually burnt. Such a mistake should never have been served to a guest and we had to explain it quite carefully before they were swapped for some which were actually medium rare. On the second occasion we ordered pizza and moules frites. The pizza was served quickly but no mussels. After reminding about the issue the explanation was that they were temporarily out of mussels. After a few more minutes the table behind us had mussels served but nothing for us. As a result, one of us finished the main course before the other one got served. They apologised but we weren 't offered as much as a cup of coffee to compensate for the poor experience. We paid the bill and won 't return.

On holiday in Argeles Sur Mer and it was our wedding anniversary. We looked at a lot of eateries and eventually decided to give L'Essentiel a try. So glad we did!!! We both had starters and enjoyed them. Then it was the main dish, and it was spectacular... Once again we chose the same dish, and when it arrived at the table it literally took our breath away. Quite the largest skewers on earth.... Filled from top to bottom with chicken and all the trimmings, every mouthful was delicious. The tastiest meal we have had when eating out for several years. The service was great from very pleasant staff, the wine was lovely, the night was absolutely great. Both of us would recommend this restaurant fully to everyone who wants a great meal. With great staff and a very relaxed atmosphere.

We stopped here for lunch when were walking by, because the restaurant looked attractive. The food was really a surprise, especially the Foie Gras. Almost everything is home made and the taste of the combination of ingredients is wonderful. The staff is really friendly and professional and we promised we would certainly be back before we go home.

My whole family became sick 1h after eating in l’Essntiel. The same owner of the good restaurant Maurice, a shame for him...

Kind service, awful food. Dont bother. Flavorless sauce, burnt poorly selected meats, drab unspectacular salad. Bad.
