Les Arcades - Reservar uma mesa

Our first night in Limoux was spoiled by this restaurant. We ordered the set menu and thought we would sample some of the regional delicacies. It didn't seen busy but we waited nearly an hour for our first course! When it arrived my salad consisted of non descript lettuce with some tough tasteless hunks of meat and a slab of greasy pate. my wife had a tasteless fish soup with a small dish of mayo straight from the bottle.For mains my cassoulet consisted of tasteless beans and dried out duck and was almost inedible. My wife had a fricasee of sorts that was marginally better.Half the desserts on the menu weren't available so we had chocolate cake and ice cream with an awful commercial custard.We wondered if the chef was off sick and the waiter was doing the cooking!

Last night in Limoux and dining on my own, I crossed the bridge to the square, looked around and stopped here. People watching was wonderful. Waiter and owner/chef were most gracious and the meal was a perfect way to create a great memory of my trip. Magret de canard is often over or undercooked - this one was perfect. My mouth is watering as I write this.

Intresting arrangement, downstairs a bar bistro layout , upstairs the small restaurant (part of the *hotel) is serviced by a dumb waiter, the energetic waiter is certainly kept fit. Simple but good French fare. On the edge of the town square with the inevitable small french tables (6) outside, great for people watching

After being told by another restaurant that they could not serve us without a reservation when only one table was occupied. We found this friendly Hotel Restaurant with great food and a pleasant atmosphere.

Lunch here today was great. Prawn and salmon salad to start. Steak with pepper sauce followed by creme caramel! All tasted great. Waiters were great with the kids too!
