Le Vert Mesnil - Reservar uma mesa

We spent a couple of days in Northern France and visited Le Touquet and Saint-Omer. We stayed at the Najeti Hotel, once the 'Château de Tilques '. At the end of our first day we went to 'Le Vert Mesnil ', a restaurant located in the beautifully restored 17th century stables of the château. We didn 't had real high expectations, but the food proved us wrong. We had a wonderful velouté with pieces of haddock, a beautifully roasted duck breast with a multitude of impeccable prepared vegetables and a nice dessert of fresh pineapple with tarragon, chocolate mousse, merengue and crumble. And all was very nicely presented. Next to that really good cooking there 's also a nice collection of wine to choose from. We had a bottle of white wine (Sancerre) that we really enjoyed. When it comes to the hotel, rooms are not that cheap. But hey,... it 's a château! The restaurant 'Le Vert Misnil ' delivers high quality cuisine at a very reasonable rate. Personnel is friendly and helpful. In case you 're in the neighbourhood of Saint-Omer looking for a place to stay and a high standard meal, try the Najeti Hotel and Le Vert Mesnil. You won 't be disappointed!

As a uk expat living in near Saint omer for many years this was the first time I hav eaten at this restaurant.The restaurant is situated in the grounds of the castle and is spacious with tables being placed wide apart in these covid times.At midday the restaurant offers a set menu of 25 euros for a two couse meal with a drink.The main meal is grilled over a open fire ,choice of meats and fish.The food was very nice with a choice of vegitables ,chips or mash potato (several variations).The service is quick and friendly.All in all a very nice experience and we will return to eat here in the future especially with the very reasonable price of the meal

chateau Tilques has always been a favourite stop off, on the way back to the shuttle, but I had not been for quite a while. The Vert Mesnil restaurant did not disappoint. We arrived for Lunch and tried the fixed price Grille Menu which was excellent value for money 27Euros p.p. The food was fresh, tasted delicious and was very well presented. We were also able to eat in the garden which was amazing. My friends who had not been before, were very impressed and we all intend to revisit.

This restaurant used to be fabulous and whilst the restaurant is now more contemporary and is even more impressive, the food isn't as good. My starter of Paris mushrooms was very average and my beef was very nice but I've had better. The service is very good and I enjoyed the evening, but its not as top notch as it used to.be.

A complete dud I'm afraid. Dining areas needs a deep clean and some properly trained staff. A very expensive experience for mediocre quality.
