Le Relais St. Clair

We had both choices on the daily menu. An overcooked bit of boney fish arrived floating in cream round some tasteless veg. My partner had a slice of fat with a blob of potatoes and a leaf of lettuce all served by a very curt waitress. The lady who took our order was nice. Starters in the buffets all very basic and with too much mayonaise for me. We stopped after the main course, instead of having dessert as planned as we were not going to waste any more money.

We saw the menu on the road which was very expensive and missed the fact there was a Brasserie underneath the 'Gastronomique ' Restaurant. We pushed our bikes passed and up the hill to town looking for somewhere to eat but a kind lady sent us back to look for the Brasserie. The P lat du Jour was an entrée buffet and dessert plus a huge main course. All highest quality and delicious.

Visited for a lunchtime fixed price menu. Good selection of tasty Buffett starters which you could eat as much as you liked. Main was a choice of roast chicken or tuna. Tuna was over cooked but the chicken was well received. Again the sweets were a reasonable choice including fresh fruit and cheese. Nice location next to the river

We have just eaten a delicious meal from the Menu Plaisir. Three fabulous courses with a couple of amuses bouches to start. I particularly enjoyed the entree of asparagus and crevettes and millefeuille aux fraises was equally delicious.

Quietly silent place.Good view on the Nantes to Brest Canal below. Comfortable chairs, perfect service, classical, polite. Loved aperitif, champagne with syrup and cherry. Well prepared fish and sauce.
