Le Relais D'Alsace

This proved a good place for standard French food and we revisited several times. The oysters were good, our steak was nicely produced and the salad was crisp. The terrine maison was delicious. We were less impressed with the fish, although the John Dory we had one night was good and some langousitnes were fresh and well presented. All the desserts we had were delicious with a good range of ice creams which work well at the end of this kind of meal. Popular with locals on cold October nights. Service was friendly and helpful and the place has a very pleasant atmosphere

We've reviewed the hotel on here, and thought we should add this of the restaurant.We have eaten here on two nights in August 2012, and had two lovely dinners.Good varied menu offering local seafood, typical French meat dishes and some easy-to-eat platters for the sensitive stomachs!We were amazed to see some younger (probably local) adults tucking into a huge seafood platter, as opposed to going to the nearest burger bar!Service as attentive as necessary, prices about average (ie not cheap).We might not stay in the hotel again, but we would eat here again.

Chose the restaurant for an anniversary dinner.We both ordered starter & main course.Only brought my starterThey brought the wrong main course for my wife.Therefore a false start on both courses.Desserts they got right - but is was a different waiter who took the order and served.The food, when they get it right, is really good.I would have liked an apology from the waitress, or the Maître D - but ....................

We visited this place as a couple. The food was very good quality and quantity. The atmosphere was beautiful and the waitress was very friendly and helpful. It is located in a good location in the city. we had no reserved place and managed to get a booking quite easy.

We got a big dish of seafood with stuffed cabbage, but the cabbage was having the taste of smoked meat which was unpleasant with the fish taste, the seafood was not fresh. The waiters are really nice
