I think this must be my 5th review of this restaurant. Probably a record, for me. And frankly 5 star reviews seem almost superfluous now, as that’s all that anyone seems to give it! But every meal sends us away so elated, that it seems a positive duty to give them another plug. The chef – whom we’ve got to know a little bit over the years – is ridiculously modest about what he does. And if the space were more pompous and service more stuffy and formal (instead of warm, chatty and full of humour, as it is) I’m sure they would already have a Michelin star. The food is precise, packed with interesting flavours and certainly more original and more regularly updated than many that Michelin have garlanded. The little extra terrace at the side (supplementing the big – slightly garage like one at the front) is a nice new addition on a hot summer’s night. It’s always a sadness if our journeys through central France have us passing this way on a night when the P’tit Roseau is closed

This is not the first time we have dined here since their relocation and as always, our dinner was simply superb and a real bargain at the menu prices. The excellent cooking is not surprising as the chef has worked in Michelin starred restaurants. His wife is the very pleasant head of house. Matching the great food is the charming, friendly service in a clean, cheerful contemporary setting, complete with pictures with what looks like live plants on them. The only slight issue might be the limited wine list, but what was on it was pretty good at reasonable prices. If the wine list is improved a tiny bit, this place is definitely heading for Michelin star status though I am not sure that this is what they want as they seem very happy with the throngs of locals we have met while dining here. We live near the town of Issoire and everyone we know love this place. Verdict: Le P 'tit Roseau is awesome dining at very affordable prices. We hope this never changes.

There is nowhere I would rather stop to dine (and therefore spend the night between Northern France and our home in the Languedoc. Indeed there is nowhere near that home that comes near it. 3 outstanding courses plus a couple of sophisticated amuse-bouches and a pre-dessert for 32 Euros seems unbeatable value. The welcome is exceptionally warm. Even the 3 year old son of the owners shakes hands with every diner before heading for his bed. (He's almost worth the booking on his own! Not for the first time, we arrived exhausted and left on an absolute high!

Visited the restaurant as a group of five people. The service was friendly and unobtrusive. The food was excellent. And very good value for money. Would happily return.
