Le Pressoir d'Argent - Gordon Ramsay

We booked this restaurant months in advance so had a lot of pent up excitement. We have no opportunity to dine at Michelin restaurants in Canada so was happy packing my sports jacket and slacks for this special occasion. Unfortunately after being seated for a few minutes a guy guessed in shorts and a tee shirt which is so not allowed. This is so disrespectful to all the other clients that followed the rules. Besides that a 2 star Michelin deserves respect as each of our spent 400 euros. If Gordon was there I am sure he would have told the guy to get out in a toatally undiplomatic way.Now for the good news. Maybe my second best restaurant experience only used by Per Se in New York. Sorry Gordon. Service was orchestrated done to ever detail as you would expect. We had the tasting menu with many additions added in. The bursting flavours, the exception presentations were beyond expectations. I have a new respect for Ramsay this restaurant sets a standard. We didn't do the wine pairing as i like to try specific wines and turn that into my personal wine tasting menu. Many great choices. I would highly recommend and yes wear the jacket as it accompanies the atmosphere, food and service perfectly.

This place is phenomenal. Personal pampering from the moment we walked in, and the staff made us feel completely at home, not an ounce of pretentiousness from anyone and their English was so, so much better than our French! We chose the a la carte menu. In spite of ordering only starter, entree and dessert, we were served an elegant six (maybe seven) course meal, all exquisitely presented. Staff explained every dish in great detail. Portions of everything were perfect to allow us to savor every course and never feel full. My wife opted for the lobster so we got the full "lobster press" show and it was spectacular. The tableside preparation of several sauces, all expertly poured on the plates, added to the magic. The garni-infused lobster broth was unlike anything we've seen. The highlight was being invited to visit the kitchen which was amazing. Genuine artists at work. Just be aware that it's very, very expensive.

A lovely restaurant and super food. Formal and friendly staff. The food was super. The wine pairing service was a little slow but was forgiven because the staff were great. So many highlights. We even had a visit to the kitchens. Costly as expected with 2 Michelin stars but a fantastic dining experience & highly recommended. The hotel is splendid and the rooftop bar is great for a cocktail before dining

Truly well earned Michelin rating - dined here with my wife and the entire experience was simply sensational. I was continually surprised (mojito lollipops!) and the service was sensational. The staff were knowledgeable, genuinely helpful and very funny. Unforgettable night!

this restaurant is probably one of the best in bordeaux. the food here is out of the world and you would relish it on your palette for days. the staff is very friendly and polite and always smiling. the food is good mix of french and european and italian
