It had been a number of years since I last ate here and yet again the experience did not disappoint. It was such a pleasure to while away the hours with friends as we caught up on various experiences. This is a traditional family run restaurant serving exquisite cuisine where the service is impeccable and the atmosphere/ambience reserved and understated(this is a positive point ,by the way) As the weather was rather chilly we all opted for a warming chicken curry which certainly didn't disappoint. I almost forgot the divine pumpkin soup to start. The owners(an extremely chic Madame) were on hand serving their clientele ,ensuring that there were no problems and thanking us as we left. Visit here for fine dining and finesse, you will not be disappointed.
The restaurant itself is not so well decorated but the typical massive wood tables are an invitation to travel through time. Good service by people who like their job and very tasty food , we had an asparagus soup and the best "quenelle de brochet" ever, clearly home made. Followed by a mild chicken curry (going very well with the savagnin we had as a drink) and some "ris de veau" that stuff that nearly only french people can eat !(but I am told they were very good).Definitely worth a stop and would happily return.
This is a classic French restaurant that you don't find as often as you once did. Family run the service and food was excellent. It was the best place that we ate at in our 10 days in France. Not at all formal but stylish. Interesting wine list with a good number of local wines. look forward to eating there again.
