Le Petit Leon - Reservar uma mesa

Having read so many of the reviews for this restaurant we were looking forward to a gastronomic experience sadly our evening was off the mark. First, the meet and greet was rather surly. Second, we ate off the €29 menu. The starters were ok. However, for the mains my wife ordered a cassoulet, what she got was cream of mushroom soup with a puff pastry topping and a dollop of mash! I ordered the confit duck and was not disappointed. Crispy and succulent. Desert almost redeemed a disappointing experience. Overall a curates egg of a meal. Good in parts but let down by a less than friendly maitre de. And at the end when asked if we'd enjoyed the meal my wife gave honest feedback which felt like it was so much water off a ducks back.

10 people of which two were Vegan which we booked a day or two ahead. Service courteous and efficient. Excellent food all around ... Second visit as a Vegan and I believe Nick Honeyman could definitely do much more of it: on the two occasions so far the Vegan dishes have surprised with creative originality, mouthwatering taste and eye pleasing presentation. Well worth a few visits during the relative short season of July and August. There are even some inside seating spaces available when the weather doesn't conform ...

If you try a place because of word of mouth, the consider yourself told! The food was top notch, such a mix of flavours that melded together perfectly while still being individual enough to still be identifiable. Just make sure you save room for the desserts. The staff were friendly and attentive enough to keep the evening moving while not making you feel pressured.

Definitely the best food we have had in ten months living in the Dordogne. Clear, distinct flavours presented with simple artistry by charming, friendly staff. A well chosen wine list. Just the best lunch. Dinner menu looks even better!

Fantastic lunch. Booked beforehand. Made to feel very welcome and all members of our party were catered for. Excellent food and service. Would definitely return and highly recommend.
