We spotted this place after walking past. After checking out the reviews we decided to head there that evening. When we walked in we asked for a table but there wasn't one free. As we hadn't booked we were prepared for this response. However a lady sat at a table nearby overheard and offered to vacate her table within the next 10 minutes, so we took a walk and came back. Lo and behold the table was free. The English proprietor (who is a fluent french and english speaker) gave us our menus and took our drinks order. We both opted for the burger and beer which was on tap. The burger was cooked to perfection, which is rare back in England where the burgers are often overdone all the way through. This was served with skin on fries and coleslaw. This proved to be very filling but despite this we chose a dessert each. The white chocolate and amoretto cheesecake was perfect. Not the stodgy substance we were accustomed to but a creamy mousse-like topping. While the atmosphere was reasonably informal by french standards, the service was impeccable, courteous and not too over attentive. I must say that after speaking some quite bad french over the past couple of days, it was a relief to have the evening off and to speak a little english. It seemed that we were not the only ones that experienced this as there were a few other english voices present.Overall a recommended stop for a beautiful evening meal.
