We were looking for a restaurant which opened on Thursday night and found this little gem. The restaurant had a number of Alsace food on its menu. We didnt know what a a tarte flambee so we had it as an entree to share between two . It's like a crispy pizza & was huge. For mains, I had backeoffe which was served in a giant vol au vent and egg pasta. My husband had the veal cordon bleu which was served with fries. Both were tasty and we really enjoyed it athough a little too full to appreciate it all. We shared the chocolate mousse which was lovely and not too rich. The wine menu was a let down as they didnt seem to have local wines by the glass. We asked for a house white wine which wasn't that great. Overall a great place to have dinner though not much English is spoken.

We were enjoying a week's wine tasting and touring in Alsace and came upon this excellent restaurant by chance. We'd only meant to stop to 'boire un coup' but our French friend insisted that he eat at noon - too early for us - so we had a tiff, stayed to eat and boy were we glad! Excellent service and superb food. A rillette to start followed by a lovely pork dish in a delicious creamy sauce. This was the plat du jour and was about 11 euros for three courses. The wine by the 'picher' was also superb. This is a must visit for lovers of good, unpretentious food. There's also a super upstairs 'salon' where we much enjoyed our Alsace Riesling.

This was the restaurant where we first tried Tarte Flambe. I don't know if they make the best one in Alsace or not, but we really enjoyed all 3 varieties that we ordered. In addition to that we also ordered Salad Gourmand with a little bit of everything including salmon, duck breast, foie gras. For dessert we ordered lemon meringue pie that was also very good.Pretty much everything about this place was good, the food, the service, and it wasn't expensive. What was also very helpful is the fact that our waiter spoke English so we had no problem communicating with him.

Nice service, lovely specialities, the Cordon du Chef, a Cordon Bleu with Serrano and a special cheese was fab. The side dish, spaetzle was cold unfortunately, but the Muster cheese sauce made even the cold ones taste great. Worth it!
