Le Bouchon St Roch

I booked this restaurant online and chose 18.30 as the time which was one of the times offered online. I chose this time as I was visiting Montpellier to go to an event later in the evening. I got a confirmation of my booking. When I got to the restaurant I was told that food was not being served until 19.00! I explained that their website offered me 18.30. The man who had “greeted” me was not sympathetic and was very rude. Food was not being served until 19.00 and that was that. He made no attempt to see if another restaurant close by might accommodate us. If you go on the website now you will be offered times from 18.00 onwards!! If the website is wrong as regards a basic issue like reservations how can one be expected to believe anything they say. The fault is theirs and the least they should do us recognise that!

We went there on Christmas Eve, as there were not many places to go to that night. The restaurant had a large tent next to the building to accommodatie the people. The menu is a classical French labourer menu, with plats come Langue de Boeuf, Foie de Veau, Rognons de Veau, Anduouillette. The setting of the tables is again very narrow, maybe claustrofaubic. However the admosphere that night was very nice. The staf is quick, efficiënt and very friendly. The staf also speak fairly good English while the pices are moderate.

Found piece of broken glass in tiramisu (crunched on it a couple of times). Waiter was very apologetic and didn't charge for the dish, but it's pretty unacceptable... Somewhat surprisingly, the place was recommended by a friend who lives in Montpellier but who presumably doesn't eat out that often...

We wanted to have snails so we googeld for a snail restaurant. When We found the restaurant it was not visible that they have snails, it was not displayed on the menues on the wall but they had it on the menue they gave us. We had the best snails ever and a very Good cuttlefish

This is a good unpretentious restaurant. I have been there two times recently and had beef and the suckling pig. Both were good and served in large portions. I recommend the suckling pig wich must be ordered in advance. The service is efficient and friendly.
