Latinos Fresh Market

While I’ve been to this supermarket many times, today was my first time trying their food. The Mexican tamales were good but halfway through I bit into several pieces of bone. The black rice (arroz morro) tasted burnt as if the rice in the bottom of the pot had burned and instead of tossing the rice they served it to the customers. The roasted pork (pernil), while it was very tender and juicy, it was severely under seasoned and lacked the flavor pernil is traditionally supposed to have. It’s very hard to mess up pernil but they did. The goat (chivo) was melt in your mouth tender, but again, the flavor was off as in…not cleaned or marinated long enough. And then the vegetable rice, another dish that’s usually has a beautiful flavor tasted like white rice dyed yellow with vegetables tossed in. I have 1 question, do the people preparing the food TASTE the food?Disappointed is an understatement! And then while checking out, the girl did not say hello and after paying $35 for 3 lacking dishes I thanked her and she ignored me and didn’t even say goodbye. I have no idea how the restaurant section of this market stays open. 5 bites into my dish and my son and I can’t finish it because it’s actually disgusting. My son also mentioned that Publix serves better pork. We will not be returning!

Very disappointed. Have used their catering for my events for 12+ years but this is the first time I have been shocked by the quality, taste and price of their food. Cost is up everywhere but the food should taste island flavorful, not processed or like you need to add more condiments. Unfortunately I had 3/4 of each tray left uneaten; That has never happened. Two large trays of rice, arroz con pollo and congri, with tax, were astronomical. I am leaving two stars because the order was ready on time and the catering person helped my mother bring the trays out to the car. I truly hope this was a one-off.

I ordered white rice with red beans on the side and chicken, I paid $30 and when I got home there’s no beans, drove back 20 minutes for beans and they told me that they threw everything out! SMH! They had ZERO customer service when I returned and acted as if they don’t care. Who the hell eats plain white rice? Dry as hell! The food also looked old and smelled old like 2-3 days old. Avoid eating at this place, unless you want to eat old food. Never again, in fact I will tell my friends to stay away!

Can’t get anyone to stay on the phone due to lack of knowledge of the English language. I was hug you on several times. I was just wanting to get a catering done: but they must be to food for American money. And for the record. I do speak Spanish. I prefer to speak English so there is less confusion as to what is needed. So sad this occurred. Will not be shopping here any longer.

This place closed too early, my last visit and a older man was disappointed of the early closing so sad.
