L'argent Double

We arrived at the restaurant shortly before closing but managed to secure a table. With four adults and four teenagers in need of pizza I presumed the pizza quality would suffer and service be staggered at best.WRONG! All pizzas were served together and all piping...hot. The pizzas were superb, delicious beyond expectation and comparable to any artisan pizza we have tried and a lot more for. As the evening grew chilly we we invited inside the restaurant by the hostess just as our pizzas were ready to serve. From my seat I had a clear view of the chef at work. Absolutely stunning pizza making skills. So close to closing time these last few pizzas were made with care, skill and artistry worthy of an entry into a pizza competition. Wish I could have expressed my respect to the chef in more than infant level french with an accompanying cheeky northern wink and thumbs up

L'argent Double is a great little restaurant serving freshly made delicious pizzas with a wide range of toppings. As well as pizza, the restaurant offers beef and lamb dishes, as well as the fish of the day. The toppings are generous and the thin crust...pizzas are extremely tasty. The owner is welcoming and friendly, and was very patient with our rudimentary French. The menu is in French and English, so we knew exactly what we were ordering. I had the L'argent Double, the house special pizza, and on another night, the Calzone. Both were superb and great value at and respectively. We visited three times during our two week stay in Caunes-Minervois and we were extremely happy with our meals on every occasion. Alcohol was extremely reasonably priced. I would highly recommend l'Argent Double, and they also do takeaway

Surprisingly good pizza with genuinely friendly service. We two had dinner here and chose pizza/salad sets. Napolitaine. Chorizo. Both pizzas had perfect thin crusts and unexpectedly excellent taste. green salad served as set with pizza: Bibb lettuce and tomatoes...with nut vinegar. Excellent. Also had aperfits (Muscat), a demi-carafe of red wine, coffee, and tiramisu. SERVICE: We felt very welcome. The service was friendly and attentive. AMBIANCE: We had reservations, and ate outside in front of the restaurant. Traffic was minimal and not a distraction. (Sat evening in Sept)

As it was out of season, our choice of places to eat in Caunes Minervois midweek was limited. Found this family run restaurant/pizzeria and it was great. The food was fabulous. Tried both the set menu one night and their home made pizzas the next....All washed down with a litre carafe of the local rose for less than Lovely friendly atmosphere. Try it for yourselves. We are sure you will agree

We had the menu, not the pizza. There was not much choice that night in the small town but it was great. We received a warm reception and had good service. It is not fine dining but good. We had home made soup, stuffed quail,...and lemon tart for desert with a carafe of inexpensive, acceptable local wine
