La Volterra - Reservar uma mesa

Chateauneuf du Faou is a charming small town on a hilltop overlooking a picturesque section of the Nantes to Brest Canal. We went there en famille especially to lunch at La Chalande which overlooks the canal. Imagine our disappointment when we got there to find...it closed (being a Monday). But La Volterra came to the rescue! OK, so it does not have a view over the canal, but it is a friendly, charming small restaurant, specialising chiefly in pizzas. We had a lovely meal: the service was friendly and the food was lovely. I had a Cactus Pizza, others had a Reine, a Calzone, a Chorizana and a Quatre Saisons. Although they were delivered a few minutes apart, they were all beautifully cooked and presented. The Cactus was very hot (ie with chilli), but very tasty. We washed them down with biere pression and a variety of soft drinks. Most enjoyable. And the bits we didn't manage to finish (they were quite large) they put in a box for us to take away. Well done, La Volterra for being open on a Monday lunchtime and for giving us such a pleasant experience, and helping to make it a lovely day out..

We have been visiting this bar, restaurant, pizzeria now for years. Seen the Chef grow up from a lad helping Dad out to cooking the pizzas himself! Last visit ever tonight due to returning to England permanently. The pizzas are enormous and I can...no longer do them justice, so just a steak tonight with roquefort sauce on it. Marvellous! Will miss our Friday nights out. If you are in the area call in you won't regret it!

Lovely staff. Chef’s salad to start which was very good. Then had great pizzas thin, crispy base that melted in your mouth and really tasty toppings. Great size too. Really enjoyed them.

Good prices, thin based crispy pizzas, choice of two plat du jour for Very friendly efficient service. Locals eat here so it is good.

Very good food, nice staff, good pizza, very very good location, romantic place. Very Cheep Nice place
