Friends who live in nearby Uzes pointed out that this resto has had mixed reviews, but we were mostly very satisfied and we can be hard to please. Friendly, competent service goes a long way to making a successful meal. The menu and carte selections here are somewhat limited, but the quality of the food is high, and we were able to choose dishes that fell within our challenging allergies. Inquire in advance if you have severe dietary restrictions. If arriving after dark, it can be hard to find Hotel Le Clos de Pradines in the narrow, winding, high walled streets. A bit more signage, and especially more lighting, would be helpful for diners who are not house guests already checked in. Our only complaint about the food was that the vegetables were sparse and somewhat overcooked. Even though we sat down at the end of the dining period, it should still be possible to serve perfectly cooked vegetables. Compensating for that fact was the provision, on our request, of some perfectly cooked simple potatoes which seem to be rare on French menus these days. We love potatoes, and don't want to be stuck with frites so often. Our host recommended an outstanding bottle of local red wine for only 25 euros.
