La Table de Pablo

Within walking distance of our gite in Petits Clements, we were delighted to visit and have a delicious dinner, with little courses in between, a local wine recommended by the staff, and dessert. A storm went by while we were there, so we couldn't eat outside as we had planned, but the decor is calm and elegant, and our window seat looked out on the terrace and plantings. A lovely slow pace to the meal, no rushing us at all, and it was clear that the staff knew many of the people visiting, as regular customers, so friendly.

We spent five days in Saint-Saturnin-les Apt, and ended up twice at Pablo's. Yes, it took some time since it was a one-man operation, but all in all it was worth waiting for. If in a hurry, go to McDonald's.... Good food, excellent presentation. The cod was a bit on the dry side, otherwise superb!

The restaurant is only accessible by car, nicely decorated with friendly and competent service. The menu has nice choices, with emphasis on local specialties. If you don't like goat cheese, ask before ordering, to avoid dissapointment. Very nice wines, good advice from the waitress.

The chef has a talent for original and excellent cooking. Taking the roles of chef, waiter, maître d', etc.. he does everything. And in style. Only reason we hesitate to give a 5 star is the choice of the music. But we will return next year.

The restaurant is quite modern and offers a very tasty contemporary menu. Friendly service, perfect location for a relaxing gourmet dinner.
