"The staff is very kind. The portions of couscous are giant. I had couscous with types if meat, lamb and chicken, and vegetables. The portion was indeed very generous. Then I had a typical Moroccan peppermint tea, which was very refreshing and digestive."

Look, I'm not Moroccan, nor do I claim to be an expert on Morrocan cuisine, but I think I know by now what things should taste like. On the one hand a vegetarian Couscous, wheres the vegetable stew was under seasoned and way too...much couscous. additional harrisssa paste was supllied, which reminded me of my days in Bradford where extra powdered Chilli would be supplied for the fanatics. My point: The dish should stand on its own. The Lamb Tagine. I made the mistake of ordering it with Prunes and Almonds which I thought would make it more authentic My mistake. I expected a stew of a sort. What I got was underseasoned lamb on the bone with Prines and Almonds ladles on top. The P&A themselves might have made a nice dessert with a bit of icecream, but their massive sweetness completely overpowered anything else on the plate. than that the prunes were not pitted of them), so you had to pick them out if you wanted to retain your fillings. I ate the prune/almond stew first, then turned to the fairly dry meat part of the dish. Disapppointed is not the word, but I still wonder why they didn't destone the prunes. So basic. From others accounts this restaurant can do better. Just do not choose the lamb tagine.

After searching unsuccessfully for a week for some real traditional French cuisine like sole meunière and just a plain French onion soup, we finally found some great food in La Pastilla a really great Moroccan restaurant in Caen. We had chicken tangine, lamb couscous, Harira...soup and the meat brick in reverse order all delicious. Service was very pleasant and the bill was very reasonable considering we also had a bottle of wine. If you like good authentic cooking this is the place. Thank heavens for Morocco’s food!

My dad and I had dinner there tonight and everything was delicious. Service was friendly and the food was just outstanding. We were brought a little plate of pickled veggies, neither of us could stop nibbling. I ordered the chicken with lemon and green olives...and he had the chicken pastilla. It was too much food for us to finish but we sure tried hard since it was so delicious. It is a very small restaurant so get there early!

The food was so tasty and the service was superb! There is an older woman that serves the food and she was such a nice individual. Her smile and kindness was unforgettable. She thoroughly described all the different types of Moroccan foods and wine and...the food itself was amazing. The food is super fresh. I would love to go back again.
