La Mediterranee Berkeley

The restaurant has great ambience and is perfect for a group gathering or a date night. However, the portion size was small for the price, particularly for the protein dishes. The most disappointing part of our visit was the service. Not only do they charge $1.5 per head for bringing our own birthday cake, but they really did not appear helpful or eager to help us when we asked for individual plates and utensils even though we were literally paying for the service that other places would have provided for free. We also had a server who kept trying to take away our plates even though there was plenty of food left in those dishes. Other staff members in the restaurant were more attentive to our requests but we really did not feel welcomed at all during the visit.

This is one of my favorite restaurants in Berkeley. I always order the MIddle Eastern Plate; it lets you try a little of everything without the pressure of choice just one element. If it's your first time to Mediterranean, I definitely recommend one of the Sampler plates. The Pomegrante Chicken, Chicken Cilicia and Spinach Feta Fillos are great! This restaurant is almost always packed for dinner, so ready for a waiting period.

Excellent delicious pomegranate chicken drumsticks that wasn’t too sour or sweet but just right. The other chicken dough was quite good too.Potato salad and green salad both were excellent sides.The service was fast.

Lunch at La Mediterranee was great Food was tasty pretty big portion with 2 sides to choose from Salad to soup.We also ordered Hummus plate as side so comes with pitaWill definitely be back for lunch again
