La Maison Val Thorens

I was planning to have lunch with my family. Once I entered the restaurant I decided to visit restroom before eating. In this phase waiter started yealling at me that toilet is only for paying customers. Once I got out from the restroom my daughters were blocked to enter the restaurant and the waiter was vaiting me on the toilet door. Once I stepped out from restroom he started yealling and blocked my way. In this phase I decided that restaurant with such service is not worth of having lunch. Therefore, I tried to get out from the restaurant but the waiter bloced again my way and looked like he would have been ready for physical contact. I the end I was able to leave the place either by paying 2 eur or buying something from restaurant which I did just to get out from the truly uncomfortable situation. My daughters were shocked to see such behaviour from waiter and we decided never to visit that restaurant again on our yearly skiing trips.

We had lunch here on the first day of our skiing holiday which was actually Christmas Day. We hadn't booked, just planned to share a couple of pizza's / hamburgers as we were eating out that evening. The food was very good, service was very quick, but what took us by surprise was the very expensive soft drinks and water - we had 4 kids with us. We had not checked the drinks menu before ordering, so it was our own fault, but a tip to remember for next time!

Very buzzy bistro in Val Thorens. Exceptionally busy but service was friendly and professional. We hadn't booked but only had to wait ten minutes for a table even at the height of lunchtime service.The pizza was fabulous - must have a great wood-fired oven. Definitely worth a visit.

Great food , plenty to eat and good quality The negative was expensive and 2 sittings makes the early sitting too early and the late one too late but I guess at height of season you have no choice , we ate there twice in 5 days so can't be bad ! Would go again

We had a delicious foie gras burger; asian salad; and beef tartare. The latter was the best I've had in France. Superb service; efficient and lovely.
