La Cour Des Miracles

We cold-called at this little bistro style eaterie one lunchtime on an overcast, dull, late November day. What a pleasant surprise to find an original and retro furnished cosy and warm hideaway complete with authentic furniture and artefacts from a time gone by. We sat in a corner by the pellet burner (very unusual to find this level of hygge in a restaurant in these parts) and had a very relaxing and enjoyable lunch all made in the house. One of us had a lovely fish pie with a fresh green salad and the other had a delicious salmon quiche with salad. The bread which accompanied was good quality and not the ubiquitous supermarket bread so often found with lunch time menus. We had a lovely carafe of house red to accompany. Service was friendly, efficient and attentive whilst being discreet. There was a dessert menu with about 4 choices with but our main plat was ample so we decided to have coffees and forego dessert. This is a small, family run bistro where the food is prepared with care and attention to detail so if you're in the area, we can highly recommend it.

The options for lunch are perfect. This restaurant has filled what was a big gap in the village. Our lunch with wine in the shade of the sun was just what we wanted. A relaxing delicious pause in the day with excellent service.

We go here quite a lot for lunch and have never had a bad meal. The menu is simple and good value with 3 or 4 choices, all home made. Good local food and excellent service.

Visiting during a concert night this summer the staff were not only rude but the food when eventually arrived was cold no excuses.

Great food and good atmosphere. Lovely hosts and great setting. Dessert was sublime. Good beer too actually !
