La Casona De Lupa

Can't find a separate listing for the 4* hotel Casona de Lupa where we stayed, so this covers that and the restaurant. The hotel is quite stylish, set in lovely gardens and the rooms are huge and have some character, not your standard faceless look. The mattress and pillows are however punishingly hard. There is a nice pool of a fair size and I was lucky to have it to myself for a 20 minute swim, but once my family joined me the pool was monopolised by a group of very rowdy local kids divebombing and yelling completely oblivious to the hotel guests there not at all what you expect from a 4* hotel and same goes for the pool towels which were disgusting: faded, scratchy and full of rips! The restaurant serves local food at reasonable prices and service was nice. My seafood soup was fantastic and the waitress made sure to give me plenty of actual prawns etc. Sadly two steaks were overcooked but we didn't make a fuss as the food would have gone to waste. A decent option for anyone wanting to be close to Asturias airport we were able to grab a basic breakfast in the cafeteria as our flight left too early to have the buffet, and we appreciated that.

It is a very big restaurant with plenty of space for big groups. We had lunch two times in this restaurant and both times we ended up satisfied with the service and the food. The price for the menu of the day is on the cheap side so we did not expect it to be that good but we were pleasantly surprised. The food was good quality and the quantity we were given did not disappoint either. I would really recommend it.

Fui de comida, pues la crema de nécoras dejaba que desear, estaba buena porque era sopa de polvos. Los canelones todo besamel brillaban por su ausencia el rape y los langostinos. Yo no los vi. Resumiendo, establecimiento 10, servicio 10, cocina 5

Very good restaurant staff and the food was delicious. Ate in the restaurant rooms down by the bar area during the week days. And on the upper level dining room on Sunday. The menu had a large variety of choices to pick from.

Camareros muy agradables, comimos unos bocadillos estupendos, sobre todo el de calamares, pan, pan, recién hecho y calamares auténticos, un bocadillo de 10.
