I visited La Cadole five years ago and after my dinner there I knew I'd go back if I ever returned to Paris. It was not just that the food was excellent; I found that the owner Thierry was — how should I put it? — not just gracious but sweet, almost in a shy way.I dined again at La Cadole nine days ago, at the same table I had in 2012, and I had the same wonderful experience. Thierry was not only helpful and prompt as my server, he asked me about my "holiday," which is a much better word than "vacation." When he was outside attending to a solo diner at a table, he took the time to help a blind man negotiate Rue Mayet. He stopped to give another couple, who had no intention of dining at La Cadole, directions when they asked him for assistance. When I got up to leave La Cadole after my dinner, he shook my hand and wished me well on the rest of my holiday. This is a true welcoming. As a solo diner, I find this especially touching and, yes, rare. As for the food, it was once again superb — I had the house cocktail, a kind of sweet Campari, a coquille St. Jacque salad, confit duck with roasted potatoes, creamy mashed sweet potatoes, haricot verts, and a half-bottle of Chinon. For dessert, a flambéed crepe Grand Marnier and two decaf espressos. The place is small and intimate, what you might expect in your dream of the quintessentially French restaurant. Its excellent food, charming ambiance, and singularly gracious owner might spoil you for other restaurants.I don't know if I'll ever have the privilege of visiting Paris again. But if I do, La Cadole had better be there.

We visited La Cadole on recommendation from the concierge at our hotel, advising us that this was 'the special one' to go to. We were not disappointed. This is mouth watering French cuisine. And Thierry the owner was a delight to meet, he opened the restaurant 28 years go and is still passionate about it.I have visited many luxury hotels and restaurants all over the world and can say that while the facade might fool you (its a very small restaurant) its truly world class. Good enough to prompt me to write my first ever review here on TripAdvisor.PS if you like talking tennis, Thierry is a tennis fanatic :)

La Cadole is just amazing. The Owner is the most welcoming and friendly man, who is so passionate about his restaurant and his food. The food was THE BEST we had in Paris. It was so good we went twice in a row during our last two nights in Paris. A lot of the items on the menu are made from scratch fresh everyday and the prices are extremely reasonable for the quality and quantity of the food. We absolutely loved it and guarantee you will to, so make sure you add this fantastic restaurant to your Paris Itinerary!!

This was by far our best dinning experience in Paris! We dined here on our second last night in Paris and left want to try so much more on the menu, that we returned again the next night for our final dinner in Paris. Thierry was an incredibly warm in welcoming us, the dishes are superb. Nothing pretentious here - just mouthwatering food and a most charming and gracious host.
