La Cabane du Vivier

At the end of our holiday in the Quercy, we had one last meal to enjoy before catching the ferry home and we wanted shellfish. So, for us, La Cabane du Vivier turned out to be a real winner. We had whelks with a bottle...of cider, we had a dozen oysters each and we had lobsters. The choice of different oysters was remarkable. The meal wasn't cheap but the value for money was good. The decor is bright and seasidey All the staff we met were friendly, informal and efficient. There was a real buzz about the place which was soon full with many people then being turned away. And that was on a Thursday in mid-September.

This is a top place to stop for champagne and oysters. A lot of very fresh (they have basins in the cellar) oysters from different areas. Order by six and compare the big difference between the oysters served. Staff is informal but need.

Cosy restaurant just in front of the sea, in a quiet location, closed to the city of Caen, in Normandy. Peaceful atmosphere, very fresh oysters, very nice service, good wines. Perfect :-)

Right on the beach, a simple interior but great seafood ( nothing else available though). You can't get fresher oysters, they come right out of the water. Friendly service.

Awesome vegan salad, tart, and carrot cake. Love the place. Great quick lunch. Amazing owners.
