Right from the gushing welcome and the city-smart decor, one had the sense of a restaurant targeted at undiscerning Parisien diners who might be more interested to a sense of style above substance. The young ladies who served us were very friendly and willing, but clearly not too experienced. The food was unexceptional. Most of the dishes we ordered were simple and undemanding. The prawns and bulots were meagre but tasty. The mackerel pate was fine but suffered from too much lemon juice. The bowl of mussels and clams was large, but most of the tiny shells were empty and what contents that were found, were not especially tasty. Only the fish received a few more positive comments. The bill for the six of us was twice what we paid in much better dining establishments on the island eg Tout du Cru... and 3 times what we paid for a perfectly acceptable meal round the corner in La Sarrasine.
