Kafenio - Reservar uma mesa

This Greek Cypriot restaurant is located in what appears to be a Cypriot social club, complete with elderly men playing cards. The restaurant tables are located along what was originally the verandah of a house which now houses the kitchen, bar and clubrooms. It was autumn when we went but the outer wall was shielded by café blinds and heaters were strategically placed.The menu is limited but the food is great and the servings hearty. We ordered starters, and the calamari in particular was very nice, but when we saw the size of the main courses we realized we didn't really need the starters. Basically the meals are kebabs with salad and chips, with the variation being the usual range of meats. The exception was that several varieties of Cypriot sausages were on offer , and I can attest to their excellent taste and texture.Bottled beer was available from $5:00 and wine from$5:00 a glass or $20:00 a bottle. BYO wine was available at $2:00 per person corkage.this is a homely little place to eat particularly if you want to escape the noise of most restaurants. Bookings are advisable.

We were made to feel very welcome at lunchtime on a hot day. The pleasant staff clearly explained the menu offerings. We chose the mixed grill dinner to share. It was a generous serving. The lamb was chewy with a lot of gristle. The haloumi and the homemade sieftalies were 10/10. The accompanying Greek beers were delicious. We enjoyed the pleasant restaurant atmosphere of cafe style tables and blue and white table cloths.

We three guys took a weekday lunch at this quaint authentic establishment.The place is laid back and oozes Greek/Cypriot atmosphere with the many Greek expats filling the tables chatting,taking coffee and playing table games.The glasses and complimentary water was presented immediately by our charming host..We choose a meze of dishes to graze on accompanied with a BYO bottle of "Arrogant Frog" french Rose economical

Great place for a family meal. Generous portions of simple, well cooked food. We had the spit roasted lamb with lemon potatoes and salad. Lovely fresh Greek salad, quick service and complementary fruit after the meal. Friendly welcoming staff and clean, relaxed setting. Reasonably priced and enjoyable to share it all with Greek families, student groups, young and old.
