Hahah. I'm laughing at some of the reviews this place is getting. Here's an honest review. I absolutely love this place. I've been coming here for the last several weeks with my boyfriend and family. And every time we come the food is delicious. Unfortunately this place has been out of both chicken and beef fajitas for about 2months due to distributing errors. So for those who give this place one star for that, come on, actually try their food and give a rating based off of that. Every business has its flaws so don't punish them because you have issues with the same food you're use to. Their enchiladas are great, and their soups are amazing as well. The owners are super kinds as well. Also a shoutout to Megan who remembers everyone's order without us even telling her. Great quality to have in a service industry. I'm looking forward to continuing Sunday traditions.
WHAT THE HECK HAPPENED TO THE ALBONDIGAS? That was a big reason we liked coming here, it was really good and authentic. The rest of the food, not so much. The tacos are okay, but honestly, how hard is it to make a decent taco? The MEAT in the albondigas soup was decidedly different (worse on this last visit. YUCK!! Too much chorizo? Really low quality, nasty taste and color. Mushy. Broth not as good either. Vegetables? None there. It was bad enough that I didn't finish it, and I LOVED it before! And to think I paid $7 for that, what a travesty. My iced tea tasted like dishwater; worse excuse for iced tea EVER. The waiter brought me another (tried to tell me first one maybe had too much ice... no, the tea was REALLY WEAK!! We won't be back. Adios, Joaquin's.
I learned from Facebook that the owners will retire and Joaquin's will close. Thank you for many wonderful years! We had take-out last weekend, and did a visit today. Joaquin's closes on April 16th... I took my son for our last visit, he has been coming here since he was three or four. He's 14 now. I ordered a $5 strawberry margarita, and Pancho Villa combo: beef hard taco, Chili Relleno, and a pork tamale. My son had a #1, two taquito dinner. The food arrived hot and was delicious. I remembered some of the times we visited, mu birthday, special outings, or just to satisfy cravings. Eating at the restaurant can't be beat. The food is much better than having take out. The service is top notch, and we will sure miss Joaquin's.
I used to come here all the time when I lived in Anaheim, the food is always piping hot and service is superb! I recently came in to meet up with a friend and have a nice quick lunch, and it is safe to say their service has not changed! Complimentary chips and salsa, keep it coming! I had one of their lunch specials.. a chicken taco and cheese enchilada and the dish came out quick and so amazing. I wish I could come more often! Anytime I am in YL this spot is on my mind.
