Semi planned spur of the moment visit after a restaurant visit, and turned out to be well worth it.Were looking for Irish music, but the resident musician for the weekend gave a variety of renditions with his accompanying guitar (inc Irish). Fabulous location down some steps and in an old wine cellar. Add this to the thirst quenching drinks available, then this is a fine chilled place to visit in Hamburg centre. Ok, it's an Irish-German bar, rather than out and out Irish, but the blend actually adds to the appeal. Nothing fancy or show-off, so not surprisingly it attracts the chilled out students and Millenials who just want a beer, to able to put the world to rights and listen to decent music along the way. The worn seating might be intolerable for those with high exclusivity standards, but for the rest of us, it adds to the character. Yep, add this to your to-do list for your 5th day in Hamburg....or 2nd visit.Real pub.
