We booked earlier in the day for a sitting at 7.15pm, which we were lucky to get as there was a long que to get in and also people were turned away without bookings. We were shown to out table by the host and followed by a friendly waitress who took our drink orders. For starters we got chicken wings and vegetable spring rolls. My partner noticed that the more meatier chicken wings were very undercooked and we got the waiters attention. He did offer for another fresh plate but we decided against it and the waiter told us there would be no charge for the wings. Mains was nice but was a bit of a wait between starters and mains but we didn't mind. We had salt and chilli chicken and chicken Cantonese (only 4 bits of chicken in the chicken Cantonese). After being recommended this restaurant and reading reviews felt it wasn't worth the hype. Staff were very nice and friendly but unfortunately food let them down.
We visited Tai Pan for our wedding anniversary meal and decided to treat ourselves to the Teppanyaki table as we hadn 't done it before. We chose the meat menu which I believe was about 45 euro each and consisted of a number of dishes cooked in front of you with plenty of show . The food was as good as ever for Tai Pan but obviously quite a bit more expensive as you are paying for the whole experience. Great as a one off but when we go back we will stick to the standard menu which we find a lot more relaxing
Absolutely amazing food and service. We were served by Suitlana (hope that’s right! who was attentive and made recommendations. The staff were really accommodating and we were never left without a drink! We had the duck first followed by the mixed Hors D’oeuvres before the mains which was lovely. The capital ribs were 10/10. Would recommend making a booking should you wish to visit!
