I can't even remember the last time I came here, probs around 15+ years ago however the layout was still the same. Plenty of space inside and a nice seating area with a big car park out the front. Also has a convenient bus stop right outside as well which was noted for future visits. It's has male and female toilets upstairs and a disabled toilet downstairs. The place is fully wheelchair accessible including the entrance which is fantastic and allowed my partner to access everything herself without myself providing assistance. The pub itself, inside and out was clean and no sticky tables. Food and drinks are very reasonably priced and the food portions were huge. The staff were amazing, very efficient on the bar and floor. They keep their ales really good, it's a greene king chain and I was a bit wary of wording an abbot ale but it was actually really decent. Went on a Wednesday and found out they had an offer on which was house red/white/rose for just £5. Bargain! The food was really great, oops forgot to take a photo as we was hungry and the food tasted good. I had the burger sizzler combo and my partner had wings and fries which were cooked nicely. And to finish we shared a millionaires cheesecake. I would like to personally thank Mike, Lou, Ali and Jo for awesome service and also the chef who was kind enough to chat to me on his break. Now I live a lot closer to this pub I will be returning again very soon. Would recommend.
Would really like this to be our local but every time we go there the outside is covered in litter. We pulled up outside the front and I nearly stepped out onto a dirty nappy! Not sure who is creating this mess but feel sorry for the pub as it puts people off going in. There is a lovely little bit of green outside which is covered in cans, bottles, crisp wrappers etc etc. I'm not sure if this bit of green belongs to the pub but was told there used to be benches there many years ago for customers, There needs to be a big clean up outside to entice people to go in.
Two rats in the restaurant ! One dead one running about while customers screamed. Staff blamed the fact the building next door is being demolished. I suddenly realised what the wee smell was where we were sitting. Rats had obviously been running around urinating everywhere. Every inch of the place needs a very serious clean. They should not be open.
Excellent and splendid customer service rendered by Michael, Joanna and Courtney during our recent visit to this Gastro-Pub. I went with my young two children and all of us were suitably impressed on how well we were looked after during our visit. Well done to the team members mentioned above who were on duty on that day.
