Les Trois Rois - Reservar uma mesa

At first I had mixed feelings about this restaurant. When called to book a table of 6 for 8:45pm, we were asked to book earlier because they wanted to close the restaurant early. Also the menu was clearly not proof-read as it was full of spelling mistakes, however it does include an English version, making it ideal for tourists. The negative side of it was ordering in English as the staff appeared to have difficulty understanding my order so I had to switch to French. My feelings did take a positive turn when the food arrived though, prices are reasonable and the food was well prepared with generous portions (at least for the dishes i ordered- Cold cuts, house burger, apple tatin). The setting is elegant and romantic making it also ideal for couples.

Had two lunches here hosted by a local company. Meals were pre-planned and all the same, but the selection of food and quality of both service and wine service superb. Duck was exceptional, with wonderful sauces made from red wine. Desserts are particularly spectacular; delicate cakes with delicious sauces; artistically arranged surgar sculptures and chocolate 'laces' make for an amazing presentation. Almost too good to eat.

... recently refurbished, comfortable and quiet with agreeable and efficient service. At midday during the week a very good value luncheon is offered, but only if you are carnivorous — 2 dishes plus cheese and a dessert for 14€. Otherwise there are menus at 23/25€ and 30/37€ ; there is also a good wine list. The restaurant is ideally situated close to the centre and parking is very easy.

My colleague from Issoudun invited me for lunch. To me it was a comfortable atmosphere in good style. In summer you can also sit outside on the patio and will be protected from the sun.The offered food was of good quality and " a point " . I had a three course menu at a really impressive price for this quality. Also nice local wine.I will come again, business or private. :-)

A limited but sufficient choice of menu with amuse- bouche too. Excellently prepared food and good value though a little disappointed by small wine list..
