Hotel Eiger Restaurant

We arrived late on a Friday evening and got a table with the restaurant pretty much to ourselves. Impeccable service, romantic, and fabulous food. We had the chateaubraind. We have never had it before, it was amazing. With the meal you get your choice of...potatoes or spatzle, and 2 separate rounds of vegetables. All was very good. If I had to find one thing wrong, the price might be a little high. The view might be amazing during day light....it was dark when we dined. That in itself could account for the cost. It was all worth it to me.

This restaurant is on the fancy side. The wait staff is very professional and dressed to the nines. We, on the other hand, were dressed very casually and that was OK too. We were treated like royalty and the service was impeccable. We had the...Chateaubriand, which was very good. The food was fresh, tasty and cooked perfectly. The views are awesome too. The meals here are pricey, but the service and the food justify the cost. It is a treat, but I would recommend a visit here while in town.

The kitchen sold us at our first dinner, so we dined there, facing Mt. Eiger and its friends, all seven of our evenings in Murren. It was hunt season, so we ordered a la carte rather than the menu and feasted on venison, wild bore... and, of course, veal in rich hunters ' saucing. Service impeccable. Wine list includes a house fendant and pinot noir, bottled specially for Hotel Eiger, which are good value and up to the occasion. Tony Eugene

Sascha and Stephan, waiters at the restaurant, were friendly, efficient, and knowledgeable about wine pairings and the menu. Good Swiss fondue, reindeer delicious, Chateaubriand and accompanying vegetables and noodles excellent. Chef always sent out a small appetizer with flavored butter before the meal. Desserts were...average.

Wonderful food with great service. Ambience is absolutely stunning and elegant. Autumn Vegetarian dish is delicious. Venison is prepared perfectly. Try the creme brûlée!
