Visited here on several occasions whilst on holiday in Konigswinter, it was just down from the Hotel we were staying at. The weather was fantastic and therefore could sit outside. There was a definite vibe about the place and we saw many many locals, including some having a birthday. We started by just having a few drinks which were very reasonably priced, around 3.50 for a 500ml bottle of Erdingber Weissbeir, We then saw the food. It looked lovely and typically german. So we gave it a go. Both myself and the boss decided we would go for the schnitzel (sadly the flammenkuchen had sold out but if you get a chance go for this). It was brilliant schnitzel and the portion sizes huge ( to be honest we could have done one between two of us) and at less than 10 euros each the meal was fantastic value. There are no deserts on menu but if you could actually eat one I would be surprised. There is a little ice cream place two shops up if you are that much in want of a pudding. The service was excellent (but please bear in mind German beer takes longer to pour than UK or US Beer) and the view and atmosphere just what you want. All round it was a great place. Mainly local Germans ( the owner often popped out to say hi to the locals) but, as with all of Germany English is spoken ( though I made the effort and the staff were remarkably patient of my butchering of their mother tongue). It is not haute cuisine but authentic German food and beer. Well worth a visit.

I am sure that this beautiful little esserei is wonderful in the spring, summer and autumn, as it is located at the edge of the pure river with unhindered view. I was here in nov, so the heavens are gray today. I would also say the hotel maritim is pretty nice. I will check it separately. I had a nice walk along the promenade and found a place with a warm greeting and cold local crumb, so everything is good.

French style thin crust pizza here was excellent. Garlic bread hit the spot. Reasonable prices, nice outdoor seating. Friendly hardworking waitress speaks good English and there's an English menu too. Highly recommended!
