My husband and I visited this establishment for the first time on March The ordered fish and chips arrived unexpectedly quickly. The plates were stone cold so I asked the woman at the counter if this was normal; she said, in a surly manner, that it was. The chips were shrunken, greyish and had lots had black patches in them. They looked extremely unappetising. I politely complained at the counter, with my plate, and asked for the black chips to be replaced. Another member of staff was called and he scraped most of the black chips off (without a word of apology) and put some fresher chips on the plate. I said to him that the chips looked as if they'd been re-heated but he didn't respond to this. When I began to open the fish, which was freshly-cooked, I was sure it wasn't cod as it was greyish and without the texture of cod, but wondered what fish it was, so I asked the woman at the counter and she said, Cod Now, I have no objection to eating other varieties of fish but I do not like to be deceived, plus I would have expected that if they were offering cod they would be likely to advertise it, not advertise fish and chips and it would probably cost more. (The two plates of fish and chips cost both agreed it was the most awful establishment for fish and chips that we'd ever visited. Both staff were very ungracious and unapologetic although I complained discreetly and politely, and we left feeling we'd been ripped-off
