This used to be out go to place! Whenevere we felt like we needed a night out or a nice romantic and calm dinner... Last friday me and my boyfriend decided it was time to go there again, for we needed a nice calm dinner afer a long and stressful week... It was a really long experience so I'll sum it up!Pros: Service is still great, I think it has even improved!Place is cosy, clean and nice. This and nostalgy are the 2 points I gave!Cons: They no longer offer half size portions (which isn't an important con, but half size plates were a huge pro!)I think they might have changed chef and administration, for the quality of the food has changed a lot and for worst! We ordered a shellfish, tomatoes risotto and a shrimp, mushrooms and tomatoes fettuccini. The risotto was really under cooked, calamari rings were not fresh at all (frozen so badly we both almost choked on them), mussels weren't properly cleaned (we found a few tiny pearls on formation while chewing!) and the tomato wasn't fresh tomato at all! It was pure tomato paste, full with conservatives and that weird concentrated taste! The fettucinni was better, but still not as high quality as it used to be before.Dessert was also bad, I had the chocolate mousse and my boyfriend had something with merengue and strawberries on it, his was ok, but he didn't liked the strawberry ice cream, on my side, I'm a HUGE CHOCOLATE FAN!!!! I love chocolate, not sweets, nor desserts, chocolate... But in this case the strawberries with balsamic that came with the mousse were waaaaay better than the mousse! To top up our "romantic night out" I got food poisoning after this meal :S, my boyfriend wasn't feeling good as well, but his stomach is stronger than mine! I spent the rest of our supposed to be romantic evening by the toilet seat throwing up...I'm not sure if I'd recommend it again... But probably we won't be going back soon...
