This place has the WORLDS best Mexican red hot sauce. I would consider myself a hot sauce connoisseur but have never tried a good one enough to write a review about it. I really appreciate the hot sauce buffet set up as well because you get to take a look at the other options for sauce. The workers here are very friendly and always super welcoming. As a Mexican myself, I would say this is as close to real authentic Mexican you’ll get in the Des Moines area and beyond. And trust me I’ve tried their “competitors”.(The only improvement this place needs is on the tamales, they aren’t the best) but the sauce makes up for it ?

Food was amazing!!! Finally a good taco place in Iowa! We ordered tacos de asada, chicharrón, Tripitas, and birria and they were honestly delicious! The Michelada was perfectly made as well as a Michelada should! We took tres leches cake to go and it was also amazing! The only thing I regret is not ordering more tacos and trying the fresas con crema! Might be back tomorrow lolProps to the cook and everyone else in the restaurant very well done!

I grew up in Arizona and this place made me think of home with their cactus salad and unique salsas, etc. The Carnitas were so good and all 6 of us had tons of good food on our plates!! We all agreed were coming back asap! Ran by a very nice family who cares about their customers. Vania with extra Pico and Nachos shown in pictures.Kid-friendliness: We had our 1 y.o. granddaughter running around and they were very friendly to her and patient.

First time here, did not enjoy the food. Ordered an elote and it was poorly made, really no effort put into it. Tacos were not amazing. Horchata was not good, very watered down, likely made from dry packet mix. We immediately had an upset stomach after leaving. It was very expensive and considering how much we spent, we expected so much more and we simply did not like any of it.
