Food and service quality has dropped significantly over the years while prices have increased. E.g. Bun Bo Hue is no longer served with Cha Hue (Viet sausage). It is now served with a cheaper Cha which makes it lose it's authenticity. On my last visit at 11.30am, the waitress was also insistent to only serve non-fresh beansprouts rather than the standard lettuce/mint/beansprout mix served with Bun Bo Hue on the excuse that they had nothing else. On several debates with her, she ended up serving me the proper mix which clearly had not been washed. Considering the restaurant was totally empty, I concluded she was just lazy. Not sure if these quality shortcomings are an effort to cost-cut or whether the owners have just stopped caring about their business - but it has been a gradual demise over the years. Each visit is worse than the last one. When the restaurant first opened, staff were friendly and attentive, food was fresh and clean and prices were competitive. This is no longer the case. The other Gia Hoi's qualities have not suffered these same issues so I assume it's just the Eastwood branch trying to cut costs and boost profits - at the expense of food quality and customer service. Hope their strategy works - it's definitely convinced me to eat elsewhere!P.S To the owners - it wouldn't hurt if the wife who collects the money smiled and said "Thanks" once in a while. Everytime people pay, she has the most unhappy look on her face, does not say anything else other than how much we owe and NEVER EVER says "Thanks". If you aren't thankful or happy to receive money from your paying customers - you are in the wrong industry and really should be finding a new career!

Dinner time on Monday not much of rush in the Restaurent. Welcomed in. Thought waiters might not know English(often find this in this area) but surprising communication was good. Sat down and menu had lot of dishes. Cleanliness was average but better than some other Vietnamese Restaurent I have been to. Condiments on the table needs some attention from the staff I guess some looks expired. We order pork & rice dish. Turn around time was Farley good for a NOT busy day. And food looks very similar to the picture that was given in the menu. Food was very good actually. Prepared well I thought not for the giving sake I should say. May be because not a rushed day. Still thought it w as good. Enjoyed the meal and not expensive too. Good average experience.

This is a place I come frequently to satisfy my Vietnamese cravings. The owner who often stands at the front of the restaurant is very warm and accommodating and always endeavours to seat us as soon as possible, even when there is a waiting line that extends out the door. The food is always delicious, fast and decently sized. Our personal favourites would be the beef pho noodles, vermicelli noodles with pork, and the crispy chicken with tomato rice.
