George - Reservar uma mesa

Popped in for a drink after a late afternoon walk! Impressed with the spirts bar... but as it was full , we decided to sit in main bar. First visit since new owners took over but impressed initially with how bright and clean it appeared for an old style pub. Realised that the hundreds of whisky bottles on show had all been expertly cleaned and polished!! The dining room had been smartened and brightened up. After a chill we decided we were hungry and ordered sandwiches. These were very reasonably priced, with fresh tasty fillings and a small side salad with a bowl of coleslaw . Enjoyed the experience and will certainly visit again.

I work here but don't really eat out as I am a bit OCD with certain things. HOWEVER I had my sunday roast here today (I had lamb, the other half had beef) and I have to say we both cleared our plates. Everything was cooked to perfection and the gravy was amazing. If you don't try it you're missing out big time. Nice one Rene and thanks. xx

Just had Sunday lunch at the newly refurbished, newly opened restaurant at the George. It was absolutely delicious and exceptional quality for the price. The beef was melt-in-the-mouth succulent, top marks to the Chef! Lovely surroundings, great food and service. Wholeheartedly recommended.

Was passing by the pub decided to pop in also had a meal! The staff where very friendly the food was lush!!! Also a big bonus they are dog friendly ???? so we had a little Bella with us too highly recommend this place. ????

it's clean, lovely atmosphere, good food, fine drink, and good music and friendly staff and retains it's old charm
