I was surprised to find that even in such a fashionable Mosel resort, Zell was not a place to cash in on the tourists who enjoy the many attributes it has to offer.Restaurants are the one exception where prices for a main course are comparable to what you would pay in a first rate English establishment.Looking at the menu postings outside a variety of restaurants, we found The Schatzkammer something of an exception with prices a good Euro or two cheaper than its competitors. Even more enticing was the fact that while others seem to be experiencing difficulties in luring diners, this one had customers at every table, many of them locals which for me, is always a good sign.So satisfied were we with our choices that we returned four nights in a row with Weiner Scnitzels of various varieties our first choice. The building itself dates back 350 years and the staff including a young Dutch Canadian, were both friendly and efficient.A very good choice for Zell am Mosel.
