Date of visit: from 02 to 07.06 – early and evening – 9-13 persons Ambience: the Gasthaus and Pension Eierdanz is located in the district Buchenberg (one of 15 places! from the municipality 34516 Vöhl. On the edge of the Kellerwald – Edersee National Park, there is an ideal and affordable starting point for excursions and hikes. The guest house, which has arrived in the years, welcomes with a quite nostalgic interior of the guest room and can be reached over four steps from the road. A huge amount of cups and awards “smell” the guest room with dark tables and chairs. It is covered with traditional tablecloths and meadow flowers still underline the rural character. Cleanliness: in the 5 days of our stay there were some “outliers”, but in principle the place is decent and clean. In view of the prices, one has to squeeze an eye in terms of dust and spun weaving on the windows filled with plants. Sanitary: the toilets are located in the basement of the building and are only accessible by stairs. Even though the last decades are visible here, everything is quite clean and acceptable. Service: the service is completely taken over by the owner, Frau Eierdanz, and works quite neatly. There is nothing to be expected at attention, the speed at the service is within the scope and since dinner was preordered, the dishes could also be served at the same time. The kitchen is dazzled by the daughter and the two are a well-established team. The map: tja, the map, I think it has remained the same for years. In addition to the usual carvings, some regional dishes and a small selection of beers and spirits in a secluded case with plastic cases. Let's say that, usual for a village restaurant. The foods: Since some “Schniposa” (Schnitzel Wiener Art with Pommes and Salat were ordered, but no knocking was to be heard from the kitchen, it is to be assumed that a great deal is being worked here with convenience. The frituse and the microwave also make their services quite audible. For this, however, the portions are undisputedly quite plentiful and inexpensive. For the dinner ordered as a cold buffet p. P. were charged just 7 €. Various breads, sausages, cheeses, some fruits and vegetables, a glass of liver sausage from the butcher, an open herring can, blood sausage can, etc., let you get tired. Beverages: Here, too, the selection is not really overwhelming but sufficient. As described above, there is a pils, wheat, water, spirits, coffee and espresso (which was not so tingling and in view of the prices (2.80 € the wheat and 1.30 € an orchard can and should not be expected anymore. Price/quality ratio: here you really have to see the overall picture, the two are really very striving to drive the operation. Renovations allowed the higher prices cannot be carried out to the necessary extent due to the low frequency and so everything remains with the old. Compared to the covered prices a few kilometers further around the tourist castle Edersee actually a real bargain. Conclusion: You can get very tired here for little money, are kindly caresed, but culinary no highlight. Therefore only the 2 – hardly again. (1 – certainly not again, 2 – hardly again, 3 – if it results again, 4 – happy again, 5 – absolutely again (after “Kuechenreise”)
