Gasthaus Rech - Reservar uma mesa

I arrived at pm and upon my question whether they could still prepare me food, I was told YES (but I was cutting it close). I did not expect the food on the German side of the border to be better than that on...the French side, but such is life. Excellent Wiener Schnitzel with an excellent wine (suggested on a board outside the entrance). Not only was the food quality high (a proper veal schnitzel with just the right amount of lemon wedge), the portion was so generous that this cyclist who had just competed more than km could not finish it. I am jealous of the people who live close by and have the chance to eat the Local's Lunch fo Euros every day !

A short drive from the Eppelborn Hof where we were staying. There was absolutely nowhere to eat in Eppelborn, but thus was an excellent find, and they recommended a good B&B if we are ever in the area again.

We went back for the second time looking for the Wildschweinschnitzel but it wasn't the right moment of the year We had a perfect Kalbschitzel instead, so tender it melted in our mouths

We visited Gasthaus Rech while staying in Eppelborn. Most places were closed (Monday). What a find! Great friendly service, good food, wine and beer. We will return!
