Fluehmatt

After a long hike in the mountains, I took a well-deserved break at this wonderful restaurant! I was warmly welcomed, enjoyed delicious food, and had an excellent cold beer! The lady who served me deserves a perfect score, she was very kind and left me with nothing but positive energy for the rest of the journey! I ordered a pork chop with french fries, ketchup, and mayonnaise. I sat outside on the terrace, which looked beautiful, adorned with flowers. The interior is just as warm and cheerful! It's the most beautiful place in Engelberg that I've been to! Tip: visit on a sunny day.

Whether you come from Engelberg or Ristis/Brunni its absolute worth a stop at Fluhmat. The family is very nice, the place very beautiful and the food original swiss food. Their speciallity is Aplermagronen which is wonderful. We normally take the cablecar to Ristis and Brunni and walk to Fluhmat from there. A beautiful easy walk. Have been there for the last 20 years and enjoy a couple of hours there in a very friendly atmosphere.

Fluhmatt is one of my favourite spots in Engelburg. Its an easy walk from Ristis or up (up is up!)from the town. Once you have eaten their amazing Alpermacaroni you can walk down through the forest back to the town. The service is friendly and efficient. If you are looking for the real Swiss Alp feeling this is the place to go and includes an amazing view while you enjoy the culinary delights.

Like some of the other out of town eating places in Engelberg you do not really go there for the excellent food, but to enjoy a night with friends. We had cheese fondu of reasonable quality, but my one at home is much tastier! Friendly staff.

Very good Swiss specialty, beer is good and view on awesome Swiss mountains. Friendly service. Hiking up from Engelberg takes about 1h through the forest.
