Fern Cottage - Reservar uma mesa

We had been recommended this restaurant by our son and also the Guest House owner. WOW! Do you know the feeling that you get when you have quality food, good value, excellent but unpretentious service in a pleasant environment? I have one constructive suggestion to the owners….pop a slice of bread with the scallop and black pudding starter as the juices are just too good to leave and I wasn’t allowed to lick the plate!

We choose this restaurant for our anniversary meal. Can’t complain about the food but we found the restaurant to be rather old fashioned. (What are the aprons the staff are made to wear?? . Also the glass of wine served was very poor, described as Sauvignon Blanc, it was very poor quality. Surprisingly for a restaurant who is supposed to be so good. Not sure we would return.

We booked in to this restaurant for dinner last week. We had a Greek dish and it was lovely but, this restaurant somehow didn't cut it for us. The staff were okay but, a bit dour, the lighting was neither bright and welcoming, nor subdued and romantic! It was just dull. Strange experience, never experienced anything like that before! Maybe it was just us?

We had the Fern recommended to us by a family friend. We were not disappointed. The entire dining experience was of a very high quality . The service just could not be better.

Fantastic food and the staff were kind enough not to charge for some food for our 1 year old. Highly recommend the kebabs.
