"Clearly it is the most latin-american focused restaurant in Greater Vancouver. Small location, big and varied menu, it caters to at least 6-7 countries with traditional dishes cooked from scratch. I tasted three different dishes and all of them delivered. Great choice of traditional drinks too!"

I found this hole-in-the-wall online after Googling 'best pupusas in Vancouver.' El Inka came up and I realized that it is only a stone's throw away from where I work. I hastily arranged a group lunch with some colleagues and headed out.The facade has changed and I believe that it is now just El Inka Restauarant - the have dropped the 'Deli.' Wonderful, friendly service awaited us inside. We had a table-laden feast: fried cassava, Columbian empañadas, Sopa de Gallina, Ajiaco (a soup from Bogota made from 3 different types of potatoes, no less!) Everything was cooked to perfection. The cassava was fried to a light honey brown; the Ajiaco was sweet and silken. Everyone was blown away. Everything had that inimitable homemade, made from scratch flavor. Very good value for money - the average price of a main is $10. Money well spent, believe me. We are all going back again, for sure.A wonderful

Authentic Peruvian Columbia food in a seemingly deserted stripmall on a tiny side street behind a hospital. <br <br I love the ceviche here. It's is a large portion of chunky pieces of fish with the right amount of lemon juice balanced with sweet potato and corn. I also highly recommend the tres leches cake for dessert: spongey moist cake served with creamy sweetened milk. <br <br Negatives: weird location wuth angled meter parking out front. Not much else there.<br <br Positives: The food is fantastic they have the usual empanadas, papusas, tamales ... but also lesser known traditional dishes, too, that feature plaintain, casava, chorizo, chicarron, tripe, ... worth the trip for something different. <br

Great casual little restaurant serving Latin food. We had the Bandeja Paisa which was a mixed plate with sausage, chopped beef, rice and beans, fried plantains, chicharron, avocado topped with a fried egg. It was amazing. We also had the Mojarra Fritas which was a deep fried whole fish that was cooked and seasoned to perfection. For starters we had the cassava fries and the flattened deep fried plantains. Both excellent! There is a lot to choose from and great share applies and share plates! They also serve excellent fruit drinks but no alcohol. Definitely worth a visit.

This is not the first time we've been to El Inka, but it may be our last. Sadly becaue we have been going there for more than 10 years. It was really busy and we had to sit on separate tables (3 tables - 7 people). The only server was very poorly trained, disinterested, and slow. She was quite rude when I asked for water for the second time, since she had forgotten the first time I did.The food was still good but because of service, we won't be going there any longer.
