Eckhaus - Reservar uma mesa

Staying near the Technical University downtown, we were looking for food really late one night and stumbled upon das Eckhaus, a little student pub located on the corner (Eckhaus) across from the main building of the Technische Universität Graz. In the summer there is plenty of outdoor seating under umbrellas, and lots more indoors in separate non-smoking and smoking rooms. There's a wide range of local beers on tap and in bottles, plus a selection of wine and mixed drinks, but what kept us coming back was the pizza. They hand you a pad to select your size (small, medium, large--even the large well under 10 €,) then indicate in addition to mozzarella you automatically get to pick four toppings from a huge, exotic list: mild or hot salami, ham, bacon, shrimp, peppers, mushrooms, asparagus, broccoli, corn, chili and lots more. Every topping over the fourth costs 1 € extra. We learned quickly: the large pizza basically covered the table and was more than two people could handle. The medium was like a large American pizza and more than enough for one person. It came out of the kitchen quickly and had that incredible thin, crispy crust. Superb stuff! The place is chronically understaffed, so waiting here is part of the game, but that's pretty much the only negative. Lots of young people hang out and you can order pizza till midnight.

The Eckhaus is one of the many student pubs in Graz and right on the opposite of the famous Graz University of Technology / Technical University of Graz. From the patio of the Eckhaus you are only some meters away of the prestigious building built more than 100 years ago. The whole area is full of nice buildings and the Eckhaus is right in the middle of it. From here you are in some minutes by foot in the UNESCO-listed old town, the city center of Graz.The staff is very friendly here at the Eckhaus, the opening hours are excellent (open every day until 2 am,) and the food is very delicious. The pizza I ordered you can assemble yourself, meaning you check the boxes of your toppings like in the Bausatzsystem many pubs in Graz are famous for. So you build your pizza via a list of toppings. For my standard sized pizza, I chose salami, feta, onions, and jalapeños. Another I had the Souvlaki, which is very delicious as well. The meal comes with zaziki, pita bread, lemon, tomato and cucumber. There three sizes, small (3 sticks,) medium (5 sticks,) and the large one with 8 sticks of pork.For the drinks we a yummy elderberry juice and a Puntigamer Radler, a traditional beer from Graz mixed with lemonade.From Graz with Love!Dr. Dr. Immanuel Fruhmann

I live near the eckhaus and like to meet with friends in the evening, be it working day or weekend. the offer does not seem to be from the stool: beer, wein, longdrinks, good tees - a quite normal bar.What the eckhaus is distinguished on the one hand is the cocktail card - due to recommend in connection with an evening on the terrace on a warm summer evening. what I still appreciate at the eckhaus is the mostly quiet atmosphere, which I simply miss in many local.The pizzas (come from the local old technology next door) are good and appropriate in the price-performance ratio.Only manko is perhaps still the price level, which is normal for cocktails; but not for beer and tee.

I've eaten a good salad and a good sandwich, the table service can be improved so much, but I'm satisfied. Good price, good dish-presentation and funny the idea of the puzzle!
