Dropped into Dami as we were wanting some Japanese and this was not too far from us and had favourable reviews. The service was friendly and food came out quickly. We ordered a variety, Gyozas, Edamame, Squid and some sushi rolls and nigiri. The sushi was fresh and tasty although somewhat sweet, the rice maybe. Good portions for the nigiri. I'm used to getting wasabi and ginger on the plate but didn't get either. I asked for wasabi and got 2 packets to use, food court style. The gyoza and fried squid was not great AT all with the gyoza seemingly deep fried or baked. They almost seemed like what you buy in a frozen appetizer box at a grocery store. The fried squid plate consisted of deep fried breaded squid rings with a couple of deep fried Chinese prawn money bag dumplings. Again, looked and tasted like what you'd pick up at the grocery store frozen section. I love Japanese food and eat it more than any other cuisine when I eat out. This was disappointing. I haven't been back in Brisbane long but it seems the state of Brisbane's Japanese food is a choice of low end Food Court quality and high end fine dining. The search continues.
