The galettes are really good and the creations too.I had a galette with hot foie gras. Never had it before but it was very delicious. For the dessert I had a crepe with salty caramel-butter and stewed apples. So, overall food quality is top. Also, the location is nice. You sit in a garden surrounded by trees and a hedge. Romantic.Unfortunately, and that's why only three stars, the service is bad.The waitress was very inattentive. It took ages until we could order. She forgot the cider and the second galette of my wife. Also, it seems they are not interested in money. We kindly asked for the bill but the waitress never came back to our table. After more than 10min we went inside the restaurant to pay.Overall, good food, good location but bad service. If you can live with it go there.Otherwise I recommend L'Annexe in Palais (the town you arrive on the island). There, the are galettes are even better and service too.

We had a great week on Belle-Île this July. The rocky coast is stunning, and there are superb little sandy coves where you can swim in crystal clear water. (Try Port Andro, my favourite.) The Sarah Bernhardt Museum at Les Poulains is fascinating, and Sauzon is cute - like a Cornish fishing village. Gastronomically, the highlight was crêpes Chez Renée in Bangor. The setting - a luxuriant little courtyard - is beautiful, and the galettes (the buckwheat savoury pancakes) are out of this world. They're crispy - I don't know how they do that - and the version we tried, goat's cheese with a spoonful of cranberry compote, was terrific. For a complete meal, try l'Hôtel Atlantique on the quayside at Le Palais. Immaculate, subtle food at extremely reasonable prices.

Don't expect a luxurious restaurant, this is only a creperie. But as creperies go you would be hard put trying to find any better than this one. A wide choice of fillings, savoury and sweet, wafer-thin french pancakes done to a turn, served outdoors or indoors with cider, beer wine or any number of non-alcoholic beverages. Good value for money and all looked after by patient, helpful and friendly staff. Highly recommended.

This restaurant is quite trandy but feels like home, really. It serves wheat and buckwheat panckakes, stuffed with different kind of meats and vegetables.Their menu is quite big, providing you like pancakes, as they serve pancakes only.In general - rather expensive for what they are, but good nevertheless.
