Great cocktails, not great entrees. I ordered the fried chicken sandwich and the chicken was cold. There was supposed to be a ?bacon jam? on top- it literally looked like cat food. I couldn?t eat the sandwich bc of it. The fries were super soggy. My friend got the Waygu burger, it was average at best. I?m not one to complain or send my food back so I just dealt with it. Don?t waste your money.

My second time eating here, and both times were fantastic! It has great atmosphere, and the staff is very friendly. Strong menu suggestions: -Starters- Corn Dogs Cheese Board -Entrees- Wagyu Cheeseburger Seafood Platter (you can get the fish and shrimp blackened instead of fried, and I suggest that) -Drinks- Chamomile Garden Smokey Pine -Dessert- Banana Tart Dark Chocolate Mousse

Food was fine, nothing standout spectacular but nothing really bad either. Service seemed to be struggling a bit though, like my husband ordered an IPA but because they were out they just brought him a random beer instead of asking what he might like instead. Overall though it was justOK, not sure I'd revisit based on our groups general feedback.

Civitas is a great little restaurant in English Village. They have Jazz on Wednesday nights and a great patio. Dinner is always wonderful. Plus, they have the best original cocktails in Birmingham. I highly recommend Civitas for brunch or dinner.

Nice small, home town feel. The food was good especially cornmeal fried green tomatoes. The waiter was very kind and bar tender, will definitely return.
