Chiringuito Alcaidesa Beach

My family and I ate here after spending a few hours on the beach. My two young children were disappointed as there was no children’s menu. We ordered my son a chicken skewer and my daughter a fruit portion. My daughter ended up with a portion of chips, even though I reinforced my poor Spanglish by pointing at the menu. The waiter was impatient and quite rude so we weren’t surprised. Luckily, my son had fallen asleep in the time it took the food to arrive. The chicken skewer was incredibly salty so he probably wouldn’t have eaten it anyway! The octopus was very fatty. We also got charged €1 for olives none of us touched, a similar amount for a tiny amount of very hard bread and €9 for a tuna salad we were given along with the bread, and therefore assumed was complimentary (definitely wasn’t worth anywhere near the price they charged! . This was our first meal out since arriving in Spain and we were worried this would be typical of the Chiringuito’s. However, having visited another chiringuito in Estepona today, I can confirm that the experience of poor service and poor food at Chiringuito Alcaidesa Beach is not typical.

Popped in for lunch after a visit to the stoney beach. The only waiter rushed us to order then disappeared never to check on us again leaving us gasping for drinks. A lady from the kitchin then appeared with tapas and a bucket of salad, slammed it down on the table and quickly ran off. Little did we know we were to be charged €9 for this unordered salad alone! The food we ordered arrived eventually. The food was ok nothing amazing... Had to go up to the bar to try and get the bill as no one seemed interested in coming to the table. When we finally got the bill we were shocked to see all the little extras that were added that we didn't ask for. All the staff had suddenly done their disappearing act again so had no choice but to pay and leave. Won't be returning, wish we went to the pizza place a few minute walk away.

We didn't eat here, promptly told food not possible only 11am. We only wanted a drink anyway which was fine. We had coffee, coke, juice and a bottle of water everything was 2€ to give you idea on prices. There was some Brazilian choices on menu also. Seems quieter than competitor 200 m away down breach, this place also has beach 4 poster beds for hire.

Everything for everyone ! Great place to have a couple of beers and eat a launch with your family while being on the beach ! Sounds perfect, isn't it ?

Beach bar and restaurant with pleasant and friendly staff, seafood dishes and cold beers. We recommend it.
